Icecream! Bring cool to summer crowds
As the summer temperatures keep climbing, visitors to the Shanghai World Expo are finding a terrific retreat at icecream stands found at various pavilions. Let’s see how the sweet treat with all its different flavors is bringing cool comfort to Expo crowds.
The hottest icecream stand is at the Turkish Pavilion. Turkey’s icecream is hailed as the world’s thickest. When stretched, it can be compared with western China’s Lanzhou noodles. And the venders don’t simply serve it. First, they perform tricks before finally landing the icecream onto your paper tray.
A customer said, “I come here simply for the icecream.”
Sold to eat here or to go, the Turkish icecream vendor can sell 3-to-4-thousand servings a day, costing 25 yuan each.
